Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited (RBBL), a government- owned institution, is one of Nepal’s oldest and largest banks, holding the highest share of deposits in the country. Over its five and a half decades of service, the bank has continuously transformed its business and operations as a learning organization while serving the Nepali people through a comprehensive range of modern banking functions. The bank has significantly expanded its market opportunities and is striving to address the emerging challenges posed by globalization, financial liberalization, integration, and advancements in information and communications technology in the financial markets. However, this is an ongoing process that requires evidence-based planned interventions to sustain the journey towards development, innovation, and excellence given the competitive work environment. Recognizing this, RBBL requested and entrusted NASC to undertake its Organization and Management Survey (O&M) to align the bank’s structure and human resources with the evolving banking landscape and propose an organizational structure based on the nature and scope of the bank’s work.
Major objectives:
1. Analyze existing functions and staffing of RBBL and identify potential gap in organization design;
2. Recommend organization structure appropriate for expanding banking services both in scale and scope as per strategic direction of the Bank; and,
3. Determine the size of human resources across the levels to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in services of RBBL
