Study on the Implementation Status of Gender Responsive Budget (GRB) in Federal Ministries

In line with its constitutional mandate of promoting equality across all spheres, the National Women Commission requested NASC to conduct a comprehensive study on the implementation status of GRB across all federal ministries. Gender Responsive Budgeting (GRB) is a governance approach that integrates gender perspectives into budget formulation and implementation to promote equality through targeted allocation of resources. The study was designed to review the institutional arrangements, allocation trends, and actual implementation practices with a view to assessing their effectiveness in advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment. 

The major objectives of this consulting assignment were to:
1. Examine the current status of GRB within the federal institutions of Nepal.
2. Analyze the allocation and implementation of GRB over the past three fiscal years.
3. Prepare and submit a comprehensive study report with findings and recommendations.
