• Nepal's tourism is a vital sector, significantly contributing to its economy and cultural exchange. Key attractions include cultural heritage, adventure activities, natural beauty, and spiritual experiences. Poor transportation infrastructure remains a challenge. Cultural and heritage tourism thrives due to ancient temples, diverse communities, and festivals. Adventure tourism attracts visitors with trekking trails, mountaineering, paragliding, and wildlife safaris. Nepal's diverse landscapes draw visitors with its majestic Himalayas, serene lakes, and lush forests. Spiritual and wellness tourism caters to seekers of yoga, meditation, and cultural immersion. Community-based tourism allows travelers to engage with local communities and support sustainable practices. Ongoing efforts focus on improving tourism infrastructure and promoting responsible tourism. Air transportation plays a pivotal role in global connectivity and economic development. It contributes to various aspects, including economic impact, connectivity, tourism development, trade and commerce, technological advancements, and environmental considerations.
• Air transportation is crucial for Nepal's connectivity, especially due to its challenging terrain.
• It supports tourism, trade, employment, foreign direct investment, and disaster response.
• Tourist expenditure, foreign direct investment, and exports highlight the economic impact of air transport. Airplanes facilitate the movement of people, goods, investments, and ideas, essential for economic growth.
• CAAN regulates civil aviation and provides airport and air navigation services.
• It ensures safety and security while fostering tourism growth through efficient air travel.
• CAAN's responsibilities include establishing safety standards, issuing licenses, investigating accidents, managing air traffic, and operating airports. Its impact on tourism involves accessibility, infrastructure development, and balancing safety with growth.
•
• Challenges include promoting sustainable tourism and embracing technological advancements. Passenger facilitation scores suggest room for improvement, while visa requirements are relatively favorable. Cargo facilitations require enhancement for efficiency in electronic processes. Addressing these challenges contributes to a more competitive aviation environment in Nepal.

Key Points from audience and experts:
What about actual sources of data shown?
• As mentioned along the data and slides, UNWTO, IATA and CAAN annual report are main source of all data.
Is the study based on International or domestic tourism movement?
• The study of tourism is mainly based on International tourism status as the is no clear distinguished separation of travelers for tourism in domestic sectors. Still total movement and role of CAAN in domestic airport infrastructure and access is improving
What about tourism development by CAAN? Is any attractions promotion done? What about technology adoption?
• It is clear that CAAN is not directly involved in marketing or any tourism development, still access to many tourism destinations in Nepal are connected with infrastructure and connectivity
• There is no clear attraction promotion done but the access and connectivity joined with travels and tourism itself aid for such activities
• Yes the technology adoption is done in need basis and as per capacity
What about role in internal tourism attractions?
• CAAN is focused on best possible and available facilities to both domestic and International airports. There is improvement in security measures, facilities, airport infrastructures
