The book titled," Civil Service Management and Administrative Systems in South Asia" is edited by Ishtiaq Jamil, Tek Nath Dhakal and Narendra Raj Paudel. There are 14 chapters focused on South Asian Countries except Afghanistan. Altogether 23 authors and co-authors have contributed the chapters in this book. This book maps reform efforts, describes how different nations in the region attempt to build their administrative institutions, the kinds of experiments carried out in search of better governance. In this discussion series, speaker would discuss on the challenges of trying to graft modern administrative techniques onto systems imbued with traditional and colonial administrative norms and practices.
Dr. Narendra Raj Paudel is a lecturer at Public Administration Campus, Tribhuvan University, Nepal since 2008. He did PhD from Tribhuvan University in 2012. He has authored two books, edited one book and wrote half dozen book chapters published from abroad. He has published two dozens of articles in national and international journals in peer reviewed journals. He has experience of working for GIZ, World Bank, NGOs and Government of Nepal in research works related to health and education, financial sector, policy implementation, administrative culture, local governance and inclusive governance.
