Opening Ceremony of Training on Survey, Design, Construction, Supervision, and Monitoring of Trail Bridge for Engineers and Sub-Engineers of Department of Local Infrastructure (DOLI)

The training programme on Training on Survey, Design, Construction, Supervision, and Monitoring of Trail Bridge for Engineers and Sub-Engineers of Department of Local Infrastructure (DOLI) commenced on 12th of Poush 2080 amongst the gracious presence of eminent dignitaries from NASC and DOLI. The opening ceremony was chaired by Senior Director of Studies and the Head of the Department (GDMLG) Mr. Tulasi Sharan Sigdel. Mr. Bharat Prasad Aryal, Director General, DOLI, Dr. Raghu Bista, Center Chief, Center for Project Management, NASC were present during the ceremony.

The formal opening began with the welcome note by the training coordinator, Ms. Gyan Laxmi Shrestha. Then Director General Mr. Bharat Prasad Aryal congratulated and welcomed all the participants in the very training programme. He highlighted on the importance of suspension bridge in Nepal as it not only connects the two sides of the deep gorges but also the livelihood of rural Nepal adding that the training would enhance the capacity of the trainees which will be applicable in both professional and personal development. Then Mr. Tulasi Sharan Sigdel, Department Head also welcomed all the participants and shed lights on how the participants are actually the role model to the younger generations while he highlighted on the importance of self -integrity and effort which is an urgent need of today for nations’ development. Also that the expectation belief of the training is actual and real participation of the trainees throughout the programme. Lastly, he congratulated all the participants for being selected for the training and extended best wishes to take it as an opportunity of reciprocal sharing of knowledge.

The training intended for 12 days with 25 participants in total which is specifically designed for the engineers and sub-engineers of DOLI to strengthen their competencies in the application of engineering tools and techniques related to trail bridges. The training management is teamed by Mr. Gobinda Bhandari and Ms. Gyan Laxmi Shrestha which will be accomplished on 26th of Poush 2080.
