Opening and start of 35th Basic Administration Training (BAT) in virtual mode

Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC) started the 35th Basic Administration Training (BAT) in virtual mode from 2078/11/02, Monday for the newly recruited gazette class three officers of Government of Nepal. The opening ceremony of the program was organized in virtual mode using the Zoom platform. All the participants were communicated for the online registration. Among 488 newly recruited participants, 481 participants registered through an online form and were present in the opening ceremony. Executive Director of NASC, Dr. Rajan Khanal, chaired the opening program, and Mr. Trilochan Poudyal, Centre Chief of Center for Induction Training (CIT), hosted the program. The other dignitaries present in the program were Deputy Executive Director, NASC, Mr. Bishnu Prasad Lamsal, Secretary, MoFAGA, Mr. Suresh Adhikari, Senior Directors, Mr. Tulasi Sharan Sigdel, Joint Comptroller and Auditor General, Mr. Naba Raj Dhungana, Joint Secretary, MoFA, Sewa Lamsal, Deputy Auditor General, Mr. Ramu Prasad Dotel and faculties of NASC.

Mr. Poudyal welcomed all the participants in the virtual platform and congratulated them on their success. He mentioned the current modality of the training program as a result of the ongoing pandemic situation. He also mentioned the level of exercise performed by NASC to address the current situation. He then welcomed Mr. Sigdel for a short opening note. Mr. Sigdel welcomed the participants and mentioned their changing role as service provider. He also mentioned the rigorous exercise done by NASC to come up with the current course. He instructed the participants to actively participate in the online training to enhance their learning in the new normal situation. Mr. Poudyal welcomed Ms. Sewa Lamsal with a short welcome note. She also welcomed the participants and instructed them to take this chance as a time to make themselves develop their own foundation so they can be pillars to the deteriorating public service. Then Mr. Poudyal welcomed Joint Comptroller and Auditor General, Mr. Naba Raj Dhungana for his short welcome note. He welcomed the participants and mentioned their new role in the public service delivery, for which they need to develop the serving attitude, become an ideal, and mobilize the government resources for the greater good of the country and society. Then Mr. Poudyal welcomed Auditor General, Mr. Ramu Prasad Dotel for his short welcome speech. Mr. Dotel welcomed the participants and mentioned them as the new bold in the public service delivery, which will define the bureaucracy of tomorrow. He also asked the participants to become very much participative in the training to enhance their practical knowledge to supplement their theoretical knowledge. Then Mr. Poudyal welcomed the Secretary of MoFAGA, Mr. Suresh Adhikari to put his welcome speech. Mr. Adhikari mentioned the importance of the program and asked the participants to consider qualification and quality to add value in their professional life ahead. He also mentioned the upcoming election for which the participants might be deputed to act as the responsible officers. At last, Mr. Poudyal welcomed Executive Director, Dr. Rajan Khanal to formally open the program and provide instructions to the participants. Dr. Khanal congratulated and welcomed the participants and asked them to accept the current situation of virtual training where we have a chance to show our resilience and adaptability. He also mentioned the situation as compulsive where everyone has to be responsible to protect everyone and cooperate with the situation. He also shared the news that from the coming week the program will be conducted in a physical mode in a careful manner. He asked everyone to be responsible and sensitive to the situation, which has forced NASC to change the modality of the training program. He instructed the participants to actively participate and successfully complete the training program, he then announced the formal opening of the program.

The participants have been divided into 15 different groups coordinated and managed by two coordinators in each group. After the formal opening of the program, Center Chief Mr. Trilochan Poudyal briefed the participants about NASC and the BAT training program and addressed their queries. Then the participants joined to their respective virtual classrooms and they were oriented about the virtual platform by the respective coordinators.
