Nepal Administrative Staff College successfully organizes a one-day workshop on ‘Excellent Master of Ceremony’

Nepal Administrative Staff College has successfully organized a one-day workshop entitled ‘Excellent Master of Ceremony’ for its faculties and other staff members on 21st Ashadh 2079 (5th July, 2022) in Kailash Hall, Sampada Sadan. The key resource person of the workshop was former Miss Nepal. Ms. Sugarika K.C, an experienced Master of Cermony and facilitator as well as an iconic public figure. The workshop was organized by Centre for Human Resource Management (CHRM) under Management Learning Group as one of the series of ‘Sharpening the Saw’ program. It was designed and organized with the key purpose of enhancing the knowledge, skills and attitude of its staffs for being a Master of Ceremony.
The opening event of the program was remarked by the presence of Executive Director - Dr. Rajan Khanal, Deputy Executive Director - Mr. Bishnu Prasad Lamsal and Centre Chief of CHRM – Mr. Uttam Acharya on the dice and senior directors, directors, deputy directors and staffs from training and administration. The program was hosted by Mr. Anup Bhurtel as one of the representatives of CRHM. Mr. Bhurtel commenced the program by addressing the dignitaries and highlighting about the program along with its objectives. He linked the roles of faculties in facilitation and mastering the ceremony on national and international forums, and stressed on the importance of the workshop to be a competent Master of Ceremony. Mr. Bhurtel expressed his gratitude for their efforts. He also thanked Ms. K.C. her time and commitment for the program. Highlighting that the program would be focused both in Nepali and English, he requested Mr. Bishnu Prasad Lamsal to give welcome remarks. Mr. Lamsal briefed about the staffs at NASC and their work nature as well as the program as a part of ‘Sharpening the Saw’ program. He expressed that this workshop would be helpful to sharpen their skills as a Master of Ceremony and wished the participants for fruitful learning. Mr. Bhurtel them requested Executive Director Dr. Rajan Khanal to provide his opening remarks and announce the formal commencement of the program. Dr. Khanal briefed on the expectations of NASC to being a better Master of Ceremony as the faculties already are competent in their subject matter. He stressed on the important role of Master of Ceremony at NASC and international level and requested the participants to make the most of the program and informed that the program has begun formally.
Ms. K.C. swiftly entered the program by introducing her background and the nature of Master of Ceremony. She quickly carried out an activity on story-telling and then moved on to the subject matter with several personal and professional examples. Her workshop mainly focused on content and script-writing including the formal program scheduling maintaining strict hierarchy, communication skills, program protocols, emotions and expressions and basic etiquettes to be maintained as an MC. Besides, she also shared on the program types, roles and responsibilities of an MC and several other useful tips throughout the workshop. The workshop went in an interactive manner with several queries from the participants’ end and two-way interactions.
The program ended at 14:40 after ensuring that participants had no further queries regarding the course contents. Mr. Bhurtel requested Mr. Basanta Raj Sigdel – Departmental Head of Management Learning Group, Mr. Uttam Acharya, Centre chief of CRHM, and Ms. Sugarika K.C. to come on the dice for a brief closing event. Mr. Bhurtel briefed about the program thanking all the participants for their active participation and requested Mr. Shiva Hari Adhikari for sharing his experience as a participant and providing vote of thanks on behalf of the participants. After sincere gratitude from Mr. Adhikari for such a fruitful session despite the limited time period as well as thanks to MSD and MLG departments for such organizing the event, Mr. Bhurtel requested Mr. Basanta Raj Sigdel to provide his closing remarks. Mr. Sigdel thanked Ms. K.C. for her fruitful session and linked his personal interest in such facilitation works and explained that such skills are among the essential life skills. With the key note on the role of Master of Ceremony and the workshop that was successfully organized, his formally ended the program. The program was then followed by handover of a flower bouquet and a group photo.
