Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC) and Namobuddha Municipality entered into a Memorandum of Understanding for mutual cooperation and collaboration in the days to come. A Signing Ceremony was organized on 2078 Chaitra 23 at the office of Namobuddha Municipality, Bhakundebesi, Kavre. Executive Director of NASC Dr. Rajan Khanal and Mayor of the Municipality Mr. Tanka Prasad Sharma (Timalsina) signed the MoU. Senior Officials from NASC Mr. Basanta Raj Sigdel, Mr. Tulasi Sharan Sigdel, Mr. Trilochan Pokharel, Ms. Achala Dahal and Mr. Gobinda Bhandari were present in the MOU Signing Ceremony. Similarly, Chief Administrative Officer Mr. Rajan Paudel and senior officials of the Municipality were also present on the occasion.
Sharing views in the Signing Ceremony, Mayor Mr. Timalsina expressed confidence that the proposed infrastructure development project at Namobuddha will be a milestone in the development efforts of Municipality with unique identity and value of a leading capacity building institution’s presence in this location. He also highlighted on the initiatives, achievements and overall learning experience of the Municipality as the first local government in federal system. Executive Director Dr. Khanal shared the progress of pre-construction phase of the project and preparation to enter into construction stage with the coming fiscal year beginning. He also highlighted that NASC is honored to work with the Municipality as a learning lab in this crucial phase of federalism implementation. He also admired the proactive role of Municipality and encouraging achievements and learning of Namobuddha Municipality in last five years.
The MoU has provisioned for mutual cooperation and collaboration in capacity building of officials and elected representatives of the Municipality and development of proposed residential training infrastructure of NASC in Namobuddha, among others. Upon completion of DPR and EIA of the proposed project, Government of Nepal is in the final stage of granting approval for the commencement of construction of infrastructure. The project will serve for 500 trainees at a time with all state-of-the-art learning facilities.
