The certification and closing ceremony of Advanced Course on Management and Development (ACMD) first batch of class II officers of government of Nepal and public institutions which started from 4 Sharwan 2078 was virtually held on 12 Ashwin 2078. The event was chaired by Executive Director of NASC Dr. Rajan Khanal and Deputy Executive Director and Head of Public Service Training Department (PSTD) Mr. Bishnu Prasad Lamsal; Director of Studies and Chief of Center for In-Service Training (CiST) Mr. Binod Kumar Bista were also present during the ceremony.

Sharing the learning reflection of the training programme, Mr. Lalbabu Kawari, representing 31 participants, thanked NASC, its faculties, training management team, CKMIT for the overall implementation and successful completion of the training program. During his reflection of training, he highlighted that the knowledge and skills gained from the training will not be fruitful until and unless we consider our orientation to provide service to the citizens. He highlighted the effectiveness of each module and emphasized that the true learning of Connecting to the Community (C2C) will be reflected only when it can be transferred in our process and procedures to provide service to the citizens. Furthermore, he categorized the learning of the different modules of the training into three categories: (i) know yourself, (ii) planning and service delivery, and (iii) practical reflection and implementation.

Sharing the observation and feedback of the overall training, Mr. Binod Kumar Bista congratulated all 24 participants who successfully completed the training course and requested remaining participants who were unable to complete the training course due to various reason to follow the due course and process of training completion complying the rules and guidelines of NASC’s training programme. During his observation sharing, he expressed his happiness to the participants who learnt to use ICT for training, work in a team and precisely manage the time. He expressed that participants have learnt tremendous theoretical knowledge regarding their work procedures and processes which should be tested and retested in their real workplace and construct their own theory and framework suitable for their work nature. He added that learning is a continuous process and today’s closing ceremony is not the end but the starting which helps to sharpen our existing knowledge.

The chair of the closing program, Dr. Khanal congratulated the participants on successful completion of the training and expressed his expectation to reflect their (participants) capacity in their own workplace that has been enhanced by attending different modules of the training designed on the basis of continuous research. He shared a proverb that “when students are ready, teachers will emerge” and thanked the participants that what they have learnt is because of their own initiation where NASC created the learning environment and avenues for sharing of the knowledge. He reminded all the participants that we, as a service provider, were to be blamed for not being sensitive towards the citizen’s journey for getting public service. He quoted it as an important challenge which can only be nullified by the reflection of our learning in our workplace. Finally he expressed his best wishes towards the bright, service oriented and successful future of the participants.

This first batch of ACMD was attended by thirty plus one participants where twenty three plus one participants successfully completed the training with all of them being graduated in first division where Mr. Iswar Nath Pakawan stood at the top of the group. Lastly, the coordination team, Mr.Devi Dutta Bhatta and Mr. Tara Prasad Kharel congratulated all the participants for successfully completing the training program, wished for their successful career ahead and thanked them for their cooperation and active participation throughout the training period.
