The 30-day induction training for newly appointed Class III officers (Engineers) of the Government of Nepal, conducted jointly by the Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC) and the Urban Infrastructure Technology Research and Training Centre, concluded on 8th Ashoj 2083. The training was held from 25th Shrawan to 8th Ashoj 2083.
The training focused on equipping newly appointed engineers with essential knowledge and skills required for effective public service, including public administration, professional conduct, coordination, leadership, and inter-organizational collaboration. The sessions also emphasized the importance of complementing technical expertise with administrative understanding and professional networking in government service.
Addressing the closing ceremony, Dr. Shyan Kirat Rai, Director of Studies and Centre Chief, CIT, highlighted the importance of integrating technical competencies with administrative knowledge and effective coordination to deliver quality public services.
Prakirna Tuladhar, Centre Chief, Urban Infrastructure Technology Research and Training Centre, reflected on the participants’ learning journey and emphasized the need to apply the knowledge and skills gained during the training in their respective workplaces.
Similarly, Trilochan Pokhrel, Senior Director of Studies and Department Head, PSTD Department, NASC, encouraged the newly appointed officers to uphold professional integrity, public accountability, and a strong sense of responsibility as they begin their careers in government service.
Representatives from each of the two training groups shared their experiences and reflections on the training. They highlighted that the programme provided valuable exposure to public administration, enhanced their understanding of the roles and responsibilities of government officers, and helped bridge the gap between their technical expertise and the broader requirements of public service.
