NepaNASC co-hosted an Inaugural Launch of a new research initiative in Nepal, Inclusion Economics

Nepal Administrative Staff College co-hosted an Inaugural Launch of a new research initiative in Nepal, Inclusion Economics on November 30, 2022. In the inaugural session, Dr. Rajan Khanal, Executive Director of Nepal Administrative Staff College, Dr. Rohini Pande, Director of Inclusion Economics at Yale University and Dr. Nisha Onta, Executive Director of Governance Lab highlighted the importance of Inclusion Economics in Nepal.
Keynote speakers Dr. Rohini Pande and Dr. Micheal Callen, Associate Professor of London School of Economics, presented research insights and opportunities related to governance and climate resilient growth for an evidence-based approach to inclusion in Nepal. 
Mr. Trilochan Pokharel, senior director NASC, Kala Swarnakar, general secretary of Sankalpa and Dr. Pukar Malla of Governance lab shared their ongoing work to improve governance and inclusion in Nepal.
In the academic panel, Dr. Juni Singh, Postdoctoral Instructor in Social Sciences of Sustainability at CalTech, and Dr. Mani Nepal, lead economist at ICIMOD presented their works on governance and policy in Nepal. 
In the breakout sessions, the facilitators Dr. Pande, Dr. Callen and Mr. Pokharel introduced policy questions related to gender, environment and inclusive governance and urged the participants to focus on diagnosing the problem and root causes. 
Finally, Binda Pandey, politician and Kewal Bhandari, Secretary of National Planning Commision shared their experience and discussed the road to inclusion in Nepal. The panel was moderated by Dr. Malla.
