An Interaction Program on Governance and Economic Reforms was organized today (2080.8.20) by Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM) in association with NASC. Rt. Hon’ble Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Finance Minister Hon’ble Prakash Sharan Mahat and Minister of Federal Affairs and General Administration Hon’ble Anita Devi had gracious presence in the Program. Participants were Vice Chairperson of National Planning Commission, Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, Chief Secretary, Secretaries, Former Chief Secretaries, Executive Director of NASC along with senior faculties and senior officials of OPMCM. A Paper was presented on ‘Framework for Governance Reforms and Immediate Actions for Government’ by Mr. Hira Mani Ghimire, Mr. Purna Chandra Bhattarai and Dr. Uddhav Pyakurel. Similarly, another Paper on ‘Economy of Nepal: Current Status, Challenges and Reform Measures’ was presented by Prof. Dr. Shiva Raj Adhikari, Mr. Rameshwar Khanal and Dr. Bishwas Gauchan. Secretaries also generated resolutions for reforms to be adopted in their decisions, actions and behavior. Addressing in the Program, Prime Minister highlighted on the need to strengthen political and bureaucratic leadership interface and mitigate the gaps in mutual understanding. He further asked the top executives of the government to take small initiatives for innovation in administrative system and ensure visible changes in public service delivery which, will ultimately promote trust of citizens toward government.
