The closing event of the five-day Training of Trainers (TOT) for the Officials and Instructors of Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security and Vocational and Skill Development Training Academy was held in Gandaki hall of Vocational and Skill Development Training Academy (VSDTA), Bhaisepati. The training was jointly organized by Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC), Jawalakhel and VSDTA. The chief guest of the training Dr. Rajan Khanal, Executive Director, Nepal Administrative Staff College. Mr. Keshav Prasad Bimali, Executive Director of Vocational and Skill Development Training Academy (VSDTA) chaired the session. Mr. Uttam Acharya was present as the dignitary in the event and coordination team of TOT: Mr. Anup Bhurtel and Ms. Chandni Kayastha were also present in the event. Mr. Narayan Niraula anchored the event. Mr. Niraula began by welcoming the dignitaries and requesting them as well as the participants to be seated. He then requested Dr. Rajan Khanal to hand over the certificate to Mr. Keshav Prasad Bimali who was also a participant of the program. After that, Mr. Niraula requested Dr. Khanal and Mr. Bimali to jointly provide the training certificates to the participants. After certification, Mr. Niraula requested Mr. Bidur Raj Uprety to share the experiences on behalf of the participants. Mr. Uprety shared that they used to teach conventionally and think that their classes were fine and learners have learned but now after the training, he was more aware. He thanked the faculties of NASC for enlightening them with various knowledge and skills to be a competent trainer and closed his remarks.
Mr. Niraula then requested Dr. Rajan Khanal to provide his closing remarks. Dr Khanal began by congratulating all the participants personally and on behalf of NASC and linked the philosophy of art of Rhetoric or the art of persuasion. He explaining that it consisted of ethos, logos and pathos. Ethos means that a trainer firstly should the knowledge of the content and information. Contents are what we tell them to their mind. Since ethos is not adequate, logos is also required which means alongside, logic is also required. Therefore, we show photos to substantiate information with logic and provide examples to convince. Along with that, pathos is also required meaning the body language and expression, eye contact and such and roles of trainers to strengthen the delivery with methodology and draw attention of the learners. He shared that adults are always lost due numerous responsibilities and linked the importance of TOT. He also shared that this event was a good model of partnership since both NASC and VSDTA are training academies. Citing the role of NASC in providing TOT in different organizations and places such as Pokhara and Janakpur, and remarking the participants as the brand ambassador, he closed his remarks. Then Mr. Bimali shared his final closing remarks in which he thanked Dr. Khanal for his gracious presence and positive collaboration to make this training a success. He also thanked Mr. Uttam Acharya for his leadership and also included Mr. Anup Bhurtel and Ms. Chandni Kayastha for effective training coordination implementation. He highlighted the learning attitude of the participants to request to organize the training. With a hope that the training will bring positive changes in the teaching and management skills of the participants, he formally closed the program and requested for the group photo.
