The Public Service Training Department (PSTD) of Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC) successfully conducted a two-day seminar on “Innovating Capacity Development Program” from 27th Asar to 28th Asar 2081. The objective of the seminar was to showcase the innovative approaches applied by faculty in delivering PCMD and ACMD training programs, sharing best experiences and practices. The seminar was structured in two phases: departmental presentations on the first day and faculty presentations on the second day.
The first day, 27th Asar 2081, featured departmental presentations where module coordinators from each department shared their insights. Ms. Anita Poudel from the Management Learning Group (MLG) presented methods and proposed improvements for Managing Self and Relationships (MSR), Personal Efficacy and Learning (PEL), and Public Financial Management (PFM) modules for ACMD and PCMD. Representing the Governance and Development Management Learning Group (GDMLG), Dr. Shyan Kirat Rai, and Ms. Pritha Paudyal presented on PCMD and ACMD modules respectively. Following these presentations, Ms. Shital Moktan Tamang from the Research and Consulting Services Department (RCSD) shared the modality of the Know Your Economy (KYE) module for ACMD. Lastly, Ms. Roshani Bhujel from the Public Service Training Department (PSTD) presented on the design and delivery modality of Public Service Innovation (PSI) module for ACMD training.
Executive Director, Dr. Rajan Khanal and Senior Director of Studies Mr. Basan Raj Sigdel along with other faculty members, critically observed and applauded the presentations. Suggestions for new approaches and modalities for each module were also provided, fostering a collaborative environment for improvement.
The second day, 28th Asar 2081 was dedicated to faculty presentations. Four faculty members volunteered to share innovative methods adopted in delivering their sessions. Mr. Tara Prasad Kharel presented on the topic “Governance Context and Landscape in Nepal: PCMD, ACMD, BAT” followed by Ms. Chandni Kayastha who spoke on “Managing Self: PCMD, ACMD”. Mr. Shiva Hari Adhikari shared his presentation on the topic “Mapping Development Projects and Analyzing Result Frameworks: ACMD”, and finally, Ms. Shailaja Upadhyaya and Ms. Antovna Gyanwali jointly presented on “Engaging People: Building Performing Teams and Fostering Team Spirit”.
In conclusion, the two-day seminar on innovating capacity development programs was successfully conducted, providing a valuable platform for knowledge sharing and fostering innovative approaches in training delivery. This event marked an important step in the ongoing efforts to enhance and innovate capacity development programs at Nepal Administrative Staff College. The two-day seminar program was chaired by the Executive Director, Dr. Rajan Khanal. Mr. Nabin Chapagain, Center Chief of Center for In-service (CIsT) hosted the program.
