Training of Trainers (ToT) for the Officers of Agriculture and Livestock Development successfully completed on 23rd Jestha, 2079

The training entitled “Training of Trainers (ToT) for the Officers of Agriculture and Livestock Development was successfully completed on 23rd Jestha, 2079 (06 June, 2022). The training that commenced from 16th Jestha, 2079 was designed for six working that included essential components of training design and delivery. The training was held as per the request of Rural Enterprise and Economic Development Project (REED) - Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development (MoALD). However, the participants were from Provincial and Local level governments as well working in agriculture and livestock development. There were altogether 14 participants with 12 male and 2 female participants. All the participants successfully completed the training after giving individual presentation and meeting other essential criteria to be successful in the training. The closing event was held on 23rd Jestha after the completion of presentation and course evaluation process in the late afternoon in Bagmati Hall, Mangal Sadan.

The closing event was held in the gracious presence of Executive Director - Dr. Rajan Khanal, Departmental Head of Management Learning Group - Mr. Basanta Raj Sigdel, Centre Chief of Centre for Human Resource Management - Mr. Uttam Acharya and Deputy Director - Mr. Devi Dutta Bhatta on the dice and Deputy Director - Mr. Nabin Chapagain in the coordination. The event was anchored by Mr. Anup Bhurtel as one of the coordinators. Mr Bhurtel commenced by welcoming all the dignitaries and participants and highlighting about the training. He reflected back on the first day of the training and changes that were observed among the participants after the training. To share the experience of the training from among the participants, he invited Mr. Arjun Rayamajhi. Mr. Rayamajhi began sharing his experience by addressing the dignitaries and expressed that he felt fortunate to a part of such training. He acknowledged that he has gained a lot in training design and delivery through this training and that it would enhance his professional growth. He also thanked the REED for providing this opportunity and assured that he would implement the learning from the training back to his job and concluded his remarks.

Mr. Bhurtel then swiftly introduced all the dignitaries by relating the proficiency of the dignitaries in the dice in ToT and also highlighted ToT as a brand of NASC in which respected ED sir as one of ToT trained director himself shows keen interest in the events of ToT and its quality. Briefly highlighting the role of the team in design of the training to make it 6-working day package, he invited Mr. Basanta Raj Sigdel to share his valuable remarks. Mr. Sigdel welcomed all the participants with a sincere thanks to REED for gathering all the participants and providing NASC an opportunity to conduct this training. He shared that ToT is a life skill just as driving skills and swimming skills. He briefed about how the training is connected our daily lives along with the professional lives. He also assured that application of the learning would help them grow professionally. He also remarked them as the brand ambassador of NASC who is now expected share this training’s learnings exponentially since NASC cannot reach out to everyone. He thus connected that they are expected to represent NASC in the needful areas of learning. With the positive belief that the participants apply the training and bring positive changes ahead, his concluded in remarks.

Mr. Bhurtel thanks Mr. Sigdel for this positive remarks and continued the program to the main part. He requested Dr. Rajan Khanal, Executive Director to distribute the certificates and provide his closing remarks. The certificate distribution briefly concluded with applauses and photograph clicks. After certification, he congratulated all the participants once again. He shared that this training was about teaching process rather than content, about how to teach what you already know. He categorized knowledge into tacit knowledge and codified knowledge with relevant examples and then highlighted that ToT trains us on how to transfer such knowledge from us to the learners. He also stressed on the significance of ToT in Agriculture as a sector of Technical Education and Vocational Training. He briefed that it the ToT which gives us the ability to describe the concept and the process with clarity citing a beautiful example of how we can describe the beauty and fragrance a flower. Stating on the learning process and learning transfer process as two different, yet interconnected process and the role of ToT in these processes, he added its importance briefing that such trainings are often demanded by different sectors across the county. He also reviewed on how the concept of such training relating to the incident of inaccuracies in bombarding of Atomic bomb in Hiroshima, Japan. At the end, he again remarked them as the ambassadors of NASC and with greetings of training transfer and career process, he concluded his remarks and announced the completion of the training. The closing event was briefly followed by hi tea in the presence of a representative of REED.
