
Center for Governance and State Management of Governance and Development Management Learning Group organized a 4-day training on “GESI Mainstreaming for Gender Focal Persons” for officers of government organizations. The programme commenced on 2081 Falgun 20 and ended on 2081 Falgun 23. There were 25 participants in the training.
During the closing ceremony of the training, Ms. Mamata Bastola, representing the participants, shared the overall experience of training. She shared the importance of this training and highlighted on the incorporation of field visit in this short training being crucial in their learning.
Executive Director, Dr. Rajan Khanal, Department Head of Governance and Development Management Learning Group, Mr. Tulasi Sharan Sigdel and Center Chief of Center for Governance and State Management were present in the event. Dr. Khanal in his closing remarks expressed that four days is too short for a training especially on GESI. However, it can be considered a great platform that brought gender focal persons of different organizations together to build a network. This network has shared and discussed on their issues, challenges and efforts being made at their respective organizations and must be continued too. Further he highlighted on whether we, our organizations and budget are gender sensitive and have been looking things from gender lens.
