
Centre for Induction Training (CIT) of Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC) organized a day organization visit to Deurali Janta Pharmaceuticals to the newly appointed gazetted class I officers of Government of Nepal (GoN) on 24 Falgun 2078. The visit was conducted with the cordial invitation of the Executive Director, Hari Prasad Sharma. Senior Director of Studies, Tulasi Sharan Sigdel, Director of Studies, Trilochan Poudyal, and Deputy Director of Studies Dr. Shyan Kirat Rai joined the visit along with the ten participants. Executive Director, Hari Prasad Sharma welcomed the participants and NASC officials along with the senior officials of the organization with a brief presentation history of the organization. Then there was a short interaction program among the participants and the organization officials along with tea and cookies. Then the participants were taken for the visit of the chemical storage unit, production unit, research and development unit, and the quality assurance unit. The participants were briefed about the operation and production process of the medicine preparation. The officials from GoN were able to see the production plant and process serving Nepal by producing quality drugs. Director Sharma also explained the challenges the organization is facing with the policies of GoN, which government needs to rethink for supportive production and development opportunities. The organization is providing direct employment to 505 people and indirectly to many more. The organization has promoted the locals and Nepali citizens to work and they have been preparing the next generation of human resources to support the production and development of the organization. In the end, all the visitors and officials had lunch at the organization’s cafeteria, which serves all the employees of the organization. Director Sharma shared his thought “We own our future and all of us are fortunately in a position to influence where Nepal will head.” The organization visit was fruitful to know how a private sector is performing such a humungous production task and how the policymakers of GoN can support them with their knowledge, skills, and performance. NASC officials and the participants thanked Director Sharma and the officials of the organization for their invitation and hospitality that has provided the idea on the working the private sector in Nepal.
