The five-day training on Leadership Development Programme for ten newly appointed class I officers through internal competition started in physical mode from 23 Falgun 2078, Monday. Mr. Trilochan Poudyal hosted the opening ceremony. Dr. Rajan Khanal, Executive Director, chaired the program. Other dignitaries present in the program from NASC were Mr. Anand Raj Dhakal, Senior Director of Studies and Mr. Tulasi Sharan Sigdel, Senior Director of Studies.
Mr. Poudyal started the opening ceremony by welcoming the participants and congratulating them on their success. He then welcomed Mr. Sigdel to explain about the training program. Mr. Sigdel welcomed and congratulated the participants. He briefed the participants about the formulation, content and expectations of the training program. He also emphasized about the changed role of the participants where they have to assume the role of leader and drive the organization and their subordinate. He also stated that they now have to perform to make their organization successful uplifting the paradigm of public service delivery in Nepal.
Then there was a brief introductory session where the participants shared their professional and personal information. Mr. Poudyal then welcome Dr. Khanal for inauguration of the program and welcome speech. Dr. Khanal, congratulated the participants and briefed them about their new role as leader. He also expressed that it is a crucial time that they should act with purpose so that the development agenda of the country is met. He also pointed out that they have achieved the success in a short span where they have a challenge to prove themselves. He said that one of the roles of a leader is to keep on studying in order to enhance own understandings and knowledge. He said that they have to achieve both the tacit and explicit knowledge, which will help them to understand the situation and take steps for better decision making. The enhanced understanding and knowledge will help one to make better decisions and perform wisely. Dr. Khanal also expressed that after a gap of two years NASC has started the trainings in physical platform, where the physical training like this will help to develop bonding among the participants. He also said that the training program like this would help to nurture positive attitude before going to the resume the responsibility in their designated organizations. At last, he wished for successful completion of the training ahead and honest feedback from the participants on the program too.
