
The opening ceremony of 47th Senior Executive Development Programme (SEDP) commenced on 6th Mangsir 2080 (22nd November 2023) at Kailash Hall, Annex of Sampada Sadan, Nepal Administrative Staff College (NASC). The ceremony was chaired by Dr. Rajan Khanal (Executive Director) of NASC. During the ceremony, the centre head of Center for In-service Training (CiST), Mr. Rajendra Adhikari welcomed all the nominated twenty-five participants from different service sectors of Government of Nepal (GoN). During the ceremony Department Head pf Public Service Training Department (PSTD), Mr. Trilochan share the details of the Senior Executive Development Programme. Mr. Pokharel highlighted that this extensive program is a competency based and op-ed that if the public sector integrity is strong, everything will develop for the society. He further added that, the leadership competency is another important competency where individual focuses largely on leadership qualities in policy making. Additionally, he added that strategic thinking requires imagination to go along together for better results. Moreover, he also informed everyone that the course modules will be conducted through cases, experiences and other channels, which ultimately justifies the competencies.
During the closing remarks of the ceremony, Dr. Khanal highlighted that SEDP is not training programme rather it’s a development programme and all theoretical classes are for making environment for discussion where we utilize your broader knowledge in session. Further he added that NASC is continuously improving and changing the training methodology. He requested the participants to first unlearn then only we can relearn it. He further added that leader’s foundation is integrity, so we need to build it and participants will prepare a strategy and a policy documents. Finally, he added that NASC uses the blending method by utilizing both academic knowledge of facilitator and practical experience of participants to create a joint knowledge.
