Graduation ceremony for the training “Innovating Public Policy: Use of Evidence (InnoPolE)” organized for Class II (and equivalent) Officers of Government Organizations was held on 2081 Chaitra 22. The seven-day training program was run by Center for Development Policy Management (CDPM) of Governance and Development Management Learning Group (GDMLG)/ Center for Federalism Studies. The program had begun on 2081 Chaitra 14.
Mr. Dhruba Raj Acharya shared the overall experience of the training representing the 9 participants. He expressed the importance of this training and appreciated the engaging group work. However, he highlighted on how the training could be improved through expert consultation via experts before going to the field. Furthermore, he suggested to extend the training from 7 to 10 days in future programme. Execitive Director, Dr. Rajan Khanal, started on why InnoPolE training was designed for the first time. He highlighted on awareness and knowledge on policy but lack information on philosophy of policy and how to make it evidence based. Hence, NASC designed InnoPolE for Class II officers and equivalent as they are the main group who drafts policy in the government. He gave many examples to emphasize on why policies should be evidence based.
Sr. Research Fellow of Policy Research Institute, Dr. Deepak Kumar Khadka, and Department Head of GDMLG, Mr. Tulasi Sharan Sigdel, were also present in the event. During the event 29 trainee officers were graduated in the ceremony. Center chief of CDPM, Mr. Trilochan Poudyal conducted the ceremony.
