The closing ceremony of Training of Trainers in Public Procurement was held on 8th July 2022, at Khaptad Hall, NASC. The two batches of TOT under Capacity Development and Professionalization (CDP) were started on July 5, 2022, for 4 working days where 45 participants successfully completed the training.
The event was chaired by the Senior Director of Studies and Department Head of Governance and Management Learning Group (GDMLG), NASC, Mr. Trilochan Pokharel. The representative from World Bank Mr. Shambhu Prasad Upreti, ITCILO Consultant Mr. Ashok Kumar Jha, the representatives/ facilitators from ITCILO Mr. Guillaume Mercier, Ms.Claudia Oehl, Mr.Youseef Saad, and Mr. MD Wassim, Director of Studies. NASC and the Program lead of Capacity Development and Professionalization (CDP) Dr. Raghu Bista, were present at the closing ceremony organized in Khaptad Hall with other NASC officials.
In the closing ceremony, Mr. Netra Prasad Subedi represented participants from the Khaptad group to share summaries and feedback on the program. Mr. Subedi shared they learned skills for conducting training sessions, use of equipment, techniques, teaching methods, evaluation process, and feedback skills. The group also committed to applying the gained knowledge in real work situations and provided feedback upon the selection of training dates in the busy schedule of FY closing. Similarly, Mr. Saroj Kumar Pradhan from the Rara group shared that they really enjoyed the training and it was among the best short training ever attended. He added training added a high level of confidence to go to other training and teach other participants. He thanked ITCILO, World Bank, Nepal Government, and NASC for organizing this training program and expected these types of training will also continue in the future.
Mr. Guillaume from ITCILO shared the overall progress of the CDP Program. Under CDP, 5 different types of training were completed, namely B1 course, B2 Course, B3 Course, B4 Course, and TOT, in 40 different batches where 1114 participants graduated in 3 years completing the project. He thanked the projector director from PPMO, funding partner World Bank, NASC, and the Nepal Government for support in the execution of this program despite various challenges and situations of a pandemic.
Mr.Upreti from the World Bank thanked and congratulated NASC, ITCILO, and PPMO team for successfully completing 40 batches of training despite 2 years of interruption due to the Covid19 pandemic. He thanked key sector agencies and all participant's nominating agencies for the completion of the project. He also congratulated TOT participants and hoped that the training program was able to add additional skills to deliver procurement-related knowledge to other participants.
Senior Director of Studies, NASC, Mr. Pokharel congratulated all the graduating TOT participants and thanked the facilitator team from ITCILO who traveled from different parts of the world to train public officials of Nepal on behalf of NASC and the Nepal Government and highlighted the need for participants friendly knowledge, skills and abilities need for trainers. He added it is pleasure movement for all of us as we have completed four days TOT program as well as substantial completion of collaboration between different partners for the CDP program by completing all of the programs despite the halt due to covid19 without extending the project. deadline. He praised the dedication, commitment, and hard work of the NASC team for successfully coordinating these events and thanked all partners organization ITCILO, the World Bank, PPMO, and the Government of Nepal for this project.
The closing ceremony was hosted by Ms. Roshani Bhujel, Training and Research Officer, NASC.
