44th Senior Executive Development Programme (SEDP) participants visited Dhulikhel Hospital and interacted with hospital authority today morning, Poush 30th 2079. Executive Director of Dhulikhel Hospital Dr Ram KM Shrestha, Dean of KUSMS Prof Dr Rajendra Koju, and other officials of the hospital welcomed participants and NASC officials. The program was also graced with the presence of the Chief District Officer (CDO) of Kavrepalanchok district Ms. Hum Kala Pandey.
The program was started with a brief introduction about SEDP program by the Executive Director of NASC Dr. Rajan Khanal. Dean Prof Dr Koju then gave a short presentation about the hospital describing how the hospital was established, people benefiting from it, and how the hospital is expanding & smoothing its service to rural areas in the neighboring regions.
Following Dr Koju's presentation, Executive Director Dr Shrestha, who is also the mind behind the hospital, shared his experience, the challenges he faced, and how he tackled with those challenges to bring the hospital where it is today. He also expressed some policy-level challenges the hospital is facing being a non-profit organization. Despite being able to manage the hospital making it one of the finest hospitals in the country, he said he has never studied anything about management, but got to learn with his work and time. He believed management, for him, is all about "Aatma" (Soul) and "Bishwash" (Faith) in what you do.

The organization visit is a part of a 2-day 'Strategic Management Action Learning Project' and 'Policy Capstone project' progress sharing presentation program for 44th SEDP participants, happening at Dhulikhel Lodge Resort.
