In this Discussion Series, the speaker will bring insights from his years’ long experiences, research and engagement with promotion of Nepali culture, literature and heritage. Nepal has rich and established culture, value systems and heritage since pre-historic period. Many mythological and research-based books have been written on Nepal’s culture and heritage. At the time, Nepal is in the process of nation-building, the importance of internalizing cultural heritage has been a crucial factor for being pride with. ‘Living with Heritage’ is an attempt to increase our understanding, appreciating our culture and internalizing its pristinity.
Mr Joshi, a centenarian, is a living heritage of Nepal with exclusive contribution in research, publication and promotion of Nepali culture and values. He has been Madan Puraskar Laureate for three times and decorated with several other national prestigious awards like Ujjwal Kiritiman Ratradeep, Suprawal Gorkha Dakshin Bahu, Bikhyat Trisaktipatta, Aadikabi Bhanubhakta Puruskar among others. He was honoured with Honorary Doctor of Philosophy by Kathmandu University. At the age of 96, a week ago he published a book ‘Nepalko Kalako Ruprekha- Prachin ra Madhya Kalin’.
