Government of Nepal (GoN) working continuously for making the country corruption free has widened the anti-corruption domain. 'Zero Tolerance against Corruption' has been the cardinal focus of the GoN’s anti-corruption policies. Despite of adopting different legal and institutional initiatives to combat corruption, Nepal still faces serious corruption problem. Nepal has long been ranked by corruption watchdogs such as Transparency International (TI) as one of the world’s most corrupt countries. There is very little disaggregated data measuring corruption in Nepal, and what is available is either too scant or outdated. With the central purpose of analyzing the prevalence of corruption in Nepal, this study considers all the cases exposed by Commission for the Investment of Abuse of Authority during 2005 to 2015. Findings provides a clear picture about the pattern and trend of corruption and outlines the nature of corruption in Nepal.
